Hello, friends! In a blink of an eye, we are only a few days away from Merdeka. While most people are feeling uplifted due to sales and discounts, we have sad news to announce. Only 4 days left to the end of Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO), The Puteri Pacific Hotel in JB has announced to officially close down for good on the 30th of August 2020.
The Puteri Pacific Hotel To Officially Close Down After 29 Years
Johor has always been one of the top places in Malaysia to explore the various colours of history. Be it for the food or the scenery. It’s no wonder that many businesses rely on tourists, one of which is the hotels. However, with the Coronavirus pandemic, many hotels have been struggling. With no alternative, The Puteri Pacific Hotel in JB has announced to close down for good on 30th August 2020.
Closed down on the 18th of March due to MCO, many thought it was just like any other hotel which is temporarily closed down. However, reported yesterday by the New Straits Times, it was announced that the 4-star hotel will be closing down permanently after 29 years. It was also stated, the reason behind this was due to the loss of customers from Singapore.
A Closing Ceremony That Was Supposed To Invite All Its Employees
Additionally, according to a photo on social media, the hotel is said to hold a closing ceremony on August 30th from 4PM to 5PM. An invitation gathering all current and ex-employees to celebrate their moments with the hotel. However, with an overwhelming response and too many employees, it was sadly canceled as it would not adhere to SOPs. Anyways, we hope all other businesses will survive this cruel pandemic and see you in the next post!
